Biography
Alan Greenspan was the chairman of the United States Federal Reserve Board from 1987 until 2006. The Federal Reserve Board oversees the Federal Reserve Bank, a private corporation chartered in 1913 by Congress and President Woodrow Wilson.
Education
Greenspan attended The Juilliard School, where he played the saxophone and clarinet. He received a BA (1948) an MA (1950) and a PhD (1977) in Economics from New York University. He also studied at Columbia University from 1950-51.
