Dean joined Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1979 after serving as a staff accountant from 1976 to 1979 for the American Osteopathic Association. From 1979 to present, he rose through CBOE's ranks from staff accountant, accounting manager and assistant controller to assistant vice president and controller, and his current position as executive vice president and CFO, which he assumed in 1988.

Education

Dean, a certified public accountant, holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Western Illinois University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Affiliations

Dean is currently on the board of directors of LifeSource, a non-profit corporation which supplies blood and blood products to 94% of Chicago's hospitals. He also has served as a member of the Economic Development Commission of Tinley Park, Illinois.
