Aubrey G. Lanston was a former assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury and founder of bond broker Aubrey G. Lanston & Co.. Lanston founded the company in 1949, by 1957 it was given designation as a primary dealer for treasury securities by the Federal Reserve.[1] Lanston traded directly with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Open Market Desk, underwrote U.S. Treasury auctions, and made markets in U.S. Treasury and Federal Agency obligations.[2]
