Bain Capital LLC
Founded 1984
Products Private investment firm

Bain Capital LLC is a private investment firm. Its affiliates, which manage approximately $80 billion in assets, include private equity and venture capital, as well as long/short public equity, credit products and global macro hedge funds.[1]

It was announced on Sept. 29, 2008, that the Neuberger Berman asset management business of bankrupt Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. would be sold to Bain Capital LLC and Hellman & Friedman LLC for $2.15 billion -- a lot less than original estimates. The deal included Lehman's Asset Management unit and private funds investment group, but excluded Lehman's major direct private equity businesses.[2][3]
