Bill Ford is CEO of General Atlantic Partners[1], a US-based private equity firm with investments in a number of exchanges, as well as the media and communications and healthcare sectors. Ford is a board member of NYSE Euronext and the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Ford joined the firm in 1991, and was promoted from managing director and head of its investment committee to president in February 2005, becoming CEO in January 2007.
Background
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Ford worked at Morgan Stanley as an investment banker. He received his BA in Economics from Amherst College in 1983 and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1987.
