The Zhengzhou Grain Wholesale Market was approved by the State Council on October 12, 1990 to be established as China's first standardized, nationwide grain wholesale market, and the State Administration of Grain recognized it as the country's grain trading center in September 2006. Since then, the Zhengzhou Grain Wholesale Market registered a total turnover of 46.88 million tons in various cash grain and oil, at nearly 65.8 billion yuan, ranking first among nationwide grain wholesale markets.
