Christopher K. Hehmeyer is CEO of HTG Capital Partners, LLC, a proprietary trading group. He also serves as the non-executive vice chairman of Knight Futures, a futures commission merchant.[1]
Additionally, Hehmeyer serves as chairman of the board of directors of the National Futures Association (NFA).[2] He was previously the NFA vice chairman[3][4] and has also served as the vice chairman of the board of the Futures Industry Association (FIA).
Hehmeyer served as the chairman of the 2009 Futures Industry Association EXPO, and serves as an honorary chair committee member of the FIA Futures Cares Charity Dinner raising money for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In 2008, over $300,000 was raised for the charity[5] In 2011, Hehmeyer was elected for a two-year term as an FIA director in the associate member category. [6]
Hehmeyer is a member of the advisory board for the Master of Science of Financial Engineering Program at Kent State University. He is a member of the Economics Club of Chicago and the World Presidents Organization.
Background
Hehmeyer was one of the founding partners of Goldenberg, Hehmeyer & Co. He served as a managing director of Virginia Trading Corporation beginning in 1981 prior to establishment of the GHCO partnership in 1984.
When GHCO was sold to Penson Worldwide, Hehmeyer became the CEO of Penson GHCO. He later stepped down and became non-executive chairman of the firm.
He was director of the Chicago Board of Trade from 1984 to 1987 and has chaired, vice-chaired, or served on 40 committees at the CBOT. Hehmeyer also served on the Board of Governors of the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation from 1993 until 1999, and as Chairman from 1996 to 1998.
Hehmeyer is an outspoken proponent of anonymity in electronic trading and his public campaign on the issue contributed to the CBOT and CME to suppress identifying information in the clearing process for trades.[7]
Hehmeyer began his career as a floor clerk and then became an independent broker and trader in 1978.
He has served on local charity boards including chairman of the exchange chapter of Ducks Unlimited and chairman of the annual LaSalle Street Dinner Dance for the Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.[8]
Hehmeyer resides in Chicago and is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. He has two children.

Confirmations: NFA and CME’s Financial Match.com
The fraud at Peregrine Financial Group was uncovered in July 2012 by the National Futures Association (NFA) which used an electronic bank account confirmation system. (Also see: Confirmations: Plugging Into Electronic Confirmations)
In November 2012, the NFA and CME Group announced they would implement an electronic confirmation system for futures brokers. The system, operated by Alphametrix, provides a comprehensive check and match of what FCMs say they have in customer funds with what banks say they have.
Chris Hehmeyer, CEO of HTG Capital Partners and chairman of the NFA, says the new system will help regulators and customers assure such a fraud does not occur again. Published March 5, 2013.[10] Watch at MarketsWiki.tv
NFA Chairman Chris Hehmeyer Talks Bankruptcy Reform
One of the issues that emerged from the MF Global collapse was the complex and often frustrating US bankruptcy process. In the case of MF Global, futures customers’ claims were lumped in with other creditors. As such, it took more than a year for customers with segregated accounts to get their money back through the bankruptcy trustee. Chris Hehmeyer, CEO of HTG Capital Partners and chairman of the National Futures Association (NFA), spoke with JLN editor-in-chief Jim Kharouf about the need for bankruptcy reform for the futures industry. It’s a tall order, he says, but Hehmeyer believes it is critical to the future of the industry. Published April 1, 2013.[11] Watch at MarketsWiki.tv
