Cleastream International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Börse, formed from the January 2000 merger of Cedel International and Deutsche Börse Clearing. The business provides clearing and settlement of fixed-income and equity securities.
In March 2008, Deutsche Borse agreed to separate Clearstream from Deutsche Börse, possibly paving the way for the sale of a stake in Clearstream.[1]
