Daniel Friel is the chief information officer of International Securities Exchange (ISE, LLC).
Background

From 1977 to 1999, he was with Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC), a jointly owned subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and American Stock Exchange (AMEX). From 1994 to 1999, he was vice president of AMEX computer operations, managing a 24-hour, dual-site operation.
His responsibilities also included quality-assurance testing, communications, trading floor support and systems programming related to SIAC’s work for AMEX. Prior to 1994, Friel held several management positions at SIAC, implementing numerous innovations that remain an integral part of SIAC’s services to the equities and options markets.
Education
A graduate of Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception, Friel holds a B.A. degree in psychology.
