David Booth is the founder of investment firm Dimensional Fund Advisors.
Booth and his family made the largest donation in the history of the University of Chicago's business school. It was also the largest gift given to any business school in the world. The combination of an up-front payment, the income stream, and the equity interest provided by the Booth gift was valued at $300 million. In recognition of the donation, the school was renamed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Booth received a degree from the school in 1971.
