David Eldon is non-executive chairman of the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, taking up the position in May 2006 after a career which included 37 years with HSBC, where he was chairman of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp and chairman of Hang Seng Bank from 1999-2005.
He is also non-executive chairman of the Noble Group, the commodities trader, deputy chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, a director of the Mass Transit Railway Corporation in Hong Kong, Eagle Asset Management, and China Central Properties. He is also senior advisor, PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong.[1]
Eldon spent 14 years in the Middle East, including spells at British Bank of the Middle East and Saudi British Bank.
