Formerly of the StormExchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Smith's focus is on adding weather derivatives related information to MarketsWiki, as well as other subjects, while also pursuing other opportunities in weather derivatives.
Smith was previously vice president of sales and trading solutions for StormExchange, a firm that offering weather risk management tools for the energy, retail, agriculture and aviation industries. [1].
Prior to Storm Exchange, Smith was manager of alternative investments at CME Group. He ran day-to-day operations of the CME weather products from 2001-2007. He worked on launching new products, educating customers, handling client management issues and working on special projects that helped improve trading efficiency and market data transparency. [2]

David graduated from University of Dayton in 1994 with a B.A in Finance and Communications.
He also earned an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology, Stuart School of Business in 2001. He was the Valedictorian for the graduate school.
