Doug Duquette is Executive Vice President Development and Chief Technology Officer for Trading Technologies International (TT). In his position with TT, he leads product design and engineering efforts. He joined TT in 2005.
Duquette is a veteran electronic trader and developer of software and hardware technologies.[1] He has worked with virtually every commercially available futures trading platform and has designed proprietary trading systems. He also has experience building, optimizing and maintaining a multi-exchange infrastructure.
Background
Duquette began building software after he started a mortgage lending operation in Boston. At the time, he was immersed in real estate brokerage, buying, renovating and selling. He developed the mortgage software system used for his company’s daily operations. While still running his mortgage firm, he began his trading career in the early 1990s, trading bond futures to hedge his mortgage pipeline. In 1995, Duquette exited the mortgage industry and transitioned to become a full-time futures trader and system developer. He created the first prototype of a new event-based graphical front-end system based on existing market data feeds.
In 1998, he left Boston for Chicago and became a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). While trading CME products, Duquette continued development of his proprietary trading systems and built connections to Eurex and the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). He worked in this capacity until he joined TT as a member of the company’s R&D team.
Education
Duquette attended the schools of Electrical Engineering and Economics at Northeastern University, Boston 1984 to 1988.[2]
