Gerald T. O’Connell is executive vice president and chief information officer of Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).
Background
O’Connell rejoined the exchange as director of systems development in 1984. During the past 20 years, he has overseen the development and implementation of all the advanced systems used for options trading at the CBOE today.
O’Connell joined CBOE from the Hyatt Hotel Corporation where he oversaw the development and implementation of a worldwide reservation system. Prior to his hotel experience, he was a principal in Front End Systems, which specialized in securities-related systems development.
