Gregory Mocek
Occupation Director Of Enforcement
Employer CFTC

Gregory G. Mocek was named director of enforcement for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in March of 2002. The CFTC announced in July of 2008 that Mocek would leave the CFTC within 60 days to join as a partner in the energy and derivatives markets practice group at the private law office of McDermott Will & Emery.[1]

During the course of his career at the CFTC, Mocek managed more than 150 attorneys and investigators and the CFTC's investigations and enforcement litigation nationwide.

Mocek's division focused mainly on major frauds and manipulation cases and filed hundreds of new cases in federal courts around the country. The division was involved with uncovering trading misconduct in the energy markets.[2] The division's actions resulted in the assessment of penalties, restitution and disgorgement of more than $2.1 billion. After creating the CFTC Office of Cooperative Enforcement Mocek played a key role in the CFTC’s efforts to assist in related criminal prosecutions by domestic and international law enforcement bodies.[3]
