Harrisdirect LLC was a part of The Harris wealth management group and was a provider of direct investing services to investors with long-term financial goals. The Harris represents the U.S. wealth management businesses of BMO Financial Group, a marketing name used by Bank of Montreal.
On Oct. 6, 2005, BMO Financial Group sold its interest in its U.S. direct investing operations Harrisdirect LLC to E*TRADE Financial Corp. for cash proceeds of $827 million.
