Hellman & Friedman LLC is a private equity investment firm.[1]During its history, Hellman & Friedman has raised and managed over $16 billion of committed capital and has invested in over 50 companies.
It was announced on Sept. 29, 2008, that the Neuberger Berman asset management business of bankrupt Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. would be sold to Bain Capital LLC and Hellman & Friedman LLC for $2.15 billion -- a lot less than original estimates. The deal included Lehman's Asset Management unit and private funds investment group, but excluded Lehman's major direct private equity businesses.[2][3]
