ISE index options

The International Securities Exchange offers 31 index options (as of Nov. 1, 2007), 19 of which are ISE proprietary indexes. Eight of those 19 are very targeted ISE industry indexes.
The remainder of ISE's indexes -- 12 of them -- are based on broader and more targeted indexes licensed to ISE (and to other exchanges) by Nasdaq, Russell, Standard & Poor's, Morgan Stanley, and others.

The great majority of index options on ISE are full-sized, with four mini-sized versions (1/10 the size of the larger indexes).
In addition, ISE recently introduced their first ETFs on three of these indexes: the First Trust-ISE Water Index Fund (underlying index ticker: HHO); the First Trust-ISE-Revere Natural Gas Index Fund (underlying index ticker: FUM); and the First Trust-ISE ChIndia Index Fund (underlying index ticker: ICK).

History and Focus
ISE introduced its first index options in October 2003, the first time indexes were traded fully electronically in the U.S. The development and listing of proprietary indexes and the continual licensing of other key indexes has been a major initiative of ISE.
