Iakovos Georganas is chairman of Hellenic Exchanges, the holding company for the Athens Exchange and associated infrastructure of the Greek capital markets system[1]
Background
Georganas spent the bulk of his career at the Economic Development Financing Organisation, a state-controlled credit agency which evolved into the Hellenic Industrial Development Bank. He joined in 1958 and left in 1991 with the rank of First Deputy-Governor. Other roles include a term as vice-chairman and member of the Greek Capital Market Commission (1989-1991). Board memberships include Piraeus Bank and OTE, the telecoms group
Education
Georganas studied at the Graduate School of Economic and Commercial Sciences in Athens (Business Administration, 1955) and at Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Program, Spring 1979).
