History

Founded in 1968, Interactive Data began as a supplier of financial market data and related offerings. Acquisitions contributed to the firm's growth, enabling the company to deliver an increasing range of services, while expanding into adjacent markets and extending its reach geographically.

In December of 2009, Interactive Data announced the acquisition of 7ticks.[1]

Interactive Data Corporation purchased 7ticks and completed the deal on Jan. 19, 2010 and combined the firm with its low latency market data business. Its consolidated global data feed is available via the Interactive Data 7ticks network.[2][3]

In early May of 2010, Interactive Data announced it would be acquired by Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus in a transaction valued at $3.4 billion.[4] Following the completion of the transaction, Interactive Data would remain headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts and maintain its offices around the world. The company would continue to be led by its senior management team and expected to continue expanding its workforce over time.[5]
