Jack Lehman was associated for many years with the Shearson organization and headed its futures brokerage as it moved through a succession of mergers and acquisitions. He has been a member of the FIA board of directors for 20+ years. Lehman served as chairman of the FIA in 1986 and 1988, and in that capacity helped defend the industry’s reputation and regulatory status in the aftermath of the 1987 stock market crash.
Lehman began his career as an investment analyst and portfolio manager for Chemical Bank. In 1972, he joined Hayden Stone, where he held a number of positions before being appointed director of futures in 1982. Among the many industry committees and panels to which he has belonged are the Comex Clearing Association board, the New York Futures Exchange board of directors, and the Commodity Exchange, Inc. board of directors.
He also served on the National Futures Association's board of directors.
In 2006, he was inducted into the Futures Industry Association Futures Hall of Fame.
