Jacques Ripoll is the director and vice chairman of the board at Newedge, effective in July 2010.[1] He is the head of global management and services at Societe Generale, and was appointed in 2009.
Background
From 2006 to 2009, Ripoll was the deputy head of Societe Generale's group strategy, moving to the head of group strategy during that time. Before that, he was the chairman of SG Securities and the global head of European equity sales and trading, beginning in 2003. In 2001, he took over responsibility for equity finance activities and in 2002, he began to manage the sales of products like derivatives and hedge funds.[2] Ripoll joined Societe Generale in 1992 as a part of the general inspection department, and became a part of the equity derivatives department in the corporate and investment banking division in 1998.
