In this role, Cawley is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Legal Department, responsible for other in-house attorneys, paralegal assistants, and departmental assistants and clerks. She plays a key role representing OCC in dealings with exchanges, clearing members, business partners, and regulators, and works with the General Counsel in managing OCC’s outside counsel.
Cawley joined OCC as staff counsel in November, 1989, and has served in positions of increasing responsibility since then, most recently as First Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. From 1985 to 1989, she worked for the Midwest Regional Office of the SEC, last serving as a Chief in the Branch of Enforcement.
Education
Cawley earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 1982 and her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1985.
