Jim Rosenthal is chief operating officer at Morgan Stanley. He was named to that position in January 2011. He succeeds Thomas Nides, who held that position for less than a year. Rosenthal had previously been head of Morgan Stanley's technology and operations, and then was named chief operating officer of the newly integrated Morgan Stanley Smith Barney brokerage business. He was also head of corporate strategy for Morgan Stanley.[1]
He will also oversee human resources, corporate communications, marketing, community affairs and corporate services.
Rosenthal was selected in November 2010 as one of the top CIOs on Wall Street for that year by Securities Technology Monitor.
