Magnus Böcker is the president of NASDAQ OMX[1], and was CEO of OMX AB,[2] the Scandinavian exchange operator and technology group prior to it being acquired by Nasdaq and Borse Dubai. He joined OMX in 1986.
Background
Previously at OMX he was vice president of OM and president of OM Technology from 1996 to 2003 and from 1989 to 1996 he was chief financial officer and member of the executive management.
He replaced Per Larsson as CEO of OMX in 2003.[3]
During Bocker's tenure as CEO of OMX, during a period of three years, OMX integrated seven national exchanges in Northern Europe into one. At the time of the merger with NASDAQ, the OMX Nordic Exchange offered trading in cash equities, fixed income and derivatives in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with over 850 companies listed.[4]
While CEO of OMX, the company moved from a loss to profitable, with both 2006 and 2007 revenues and operating profit the highest ever in company history.
Education
Böcker studed business at the University of Stockholm.[5]
