Mahesh Soneji is chief operating officer of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). He is serving as a caretaker manager of the exchange until former BSE chief executive Rajnikant Patel is replaced.[1]

Soneji has over two decades of experience in the securities market in India.[2]Soneji was a member of the Chandrate Committee, which looked into the delisting of securities on the stock exchanges and was also a member of the M R Mayya Committee which was set up for framing the model rules and bylaws for stock exchanges.[3]
