Maria Bartiromo is anchor of the CNBC show "Closing Bell With Maria Bartiromo." Bartiromo, who filed several trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office to trademark her "Money Honey[1]" nickname, is also the host and managing editor of the nationally syndicated "Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo."[2]

Bartiromo is a member of the board of trustees of New York University, the board of directors of the New York City Ballet, the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York; as well as PENCIL: Public Education Needs Civic Involvement and Leadership, which is a non-profit group that aims to improve New York high schools.

Bartiromo is also a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, a member of The Wharton Leadership advisory board and a member of the board of governors of the Columbus Citizens Foundation.

Maria Bartiromo worked for CNN Business News before she moved over to CNBC in 1993.[3]

HarperCollins published Bartirom's book, "Use the News: How to Separate the Noise from the Investment Nuggets and Make Money in Any Economy" in June 2001. It was on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.


Education

Bartiromo was born Sept. 11, 1967, in Brooklyn, New York. While in high school, she worked as a coat checker at the Italian restaurant her parents owned. She received a bachelor's degree from New York University, where she majored in journalism and minored in economics.
