Michael A. Manning is President & Chief Executive Officer of Rand Financial Services, Inc. He has held that position since October 2000. Before that, Manning served for eight years as Rand’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In that role he oversaw floor and back office operations, risk management and technology development. His employment with the firm dates back to its inception in January of 1993.

Manning has had a career in the futures industry for the past 30 years. Before joining Rand, he spent 12 years at LIT America, Inc., the successor to Goldberg Brothers Trading Company, as Senior Vice President of the Operations and Floor Traders Divisions. He also served as a member of LIT’s Executive Committee and on its Board of Directors. Before joining Goldberg, Manning worked for Plaza Clearing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Salomon Brothers.
Along with his duties at Rand, from 1997 to 2003 Manning was also on the Board of Governors of the Board Of Trade Clearing Corporation (now known as “The Clearing Corporation”). He has been a member of the Chicago Board of Trade (“CBOT”) since 1981, and served on the CBOT’s Board of Directors from 1995 to 2001. He most recently served as Chairman of the CBOT’s Nominating Committee.
Manning’s previous exchange activity also included chairing the CBOT’s Regulatory Compliance Committee and co-chairing its Technology Committee and Trading Floor Efficiency Subcommittee. Manning also chaired the Joint Committee on Common Clearing assembled by the CBOT. He has had numerous other committee appointments as well.
In addition to his CBOT affiliation, Mr. Manning holds memberships on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME); the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT); the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX); the New York Commodities Exchange (COMEX); and the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT).
