Michael Cairns is the CEO of FX Solutions. He assumed the role in April 2009. He is also Managing Director, Americas and Middle East for the firm's parent company, City Index Group.
Background
Cairns has been with FX Solutions since its inception in 2001. Before becoming CEO, Cairns was director of trading and risk management. In this capacity, he played a major role in providing the business rules and logic behind the company's GTS platform. He also helped design and develop the company’s risk management systems and algorithmic pricing logic.
He managed Forward FX and the trading of government securities for over 15 years at several major European banks, including Kredietbank New York, Istituto Bancario di Torino, New York, National Westminster Bank PLC, New York and Ulster Bank, Belfast, Northern Ireland.[1]
