In 1982, Cahill joined The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) as a Risk Analyst, and subsequently managed OCC’s Risk Management, Treasury Operations, Application Development and Operations areas. Prior to his election as President and COO in 2002, Cahill was Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.[3] He was a key contributor to OCC becoming the first clearing corporation to receive a AAA rating in 1993 from Standard & Poors.
Affiliations
Cahill is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and serves on the operations committee. Other memberships include the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Financial Markets Working Group; Economic Club of Chicago; Futures Industry Association - operations division; Unified Clearing and Securities Clearing Groups; the LaSalle Street Dinner Dance Committee; and the Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame Parents Council.
Education
He received a MBA in Finance from DePaul University, a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, and is also a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School of Business.
