Neal L. Wolkoff is the CEO of Wolkoff Consulting Services LLC http://wolkoffconsulting.com/ Until February 6, 2012, he was CEO of ELX Futures, L.P., beginning on Oct. 6, 2008. Previously, he had been Chairman and CEO of the American Stock Exchange prior to its acquisition by NYSE Euronext. Wolkoff was named[1] chairman and CEO in April 2005 after serving as acting CEO. Prior to AMEX, Wolkoff was COO and EVP of the NYMEX.

On Jan. 20, 2012, Wolkoff notified the ELX board of his resignation, effective Apr. 30, 2012.[2]

Background

Wolkoff was hired by AMEX to restore its reputation and finances following scandals that weakened the institution.[3]

Previously, he served as chief operating officer of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), capping a 20-year NYMEX career in several senior-level officer positions. He was appointed NYMEX executive vice president in 1993 and chief operating officer in 2002.

He began his career in 1980 as an honors program trial attorney in the Division of Enforcement for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Wolkoff has been a guest lecturer at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a frequent public speaker on market issues and risk management at industry and government seminars.[4] He has also written editorials on Sarbanes Oxley that have been published in The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.[5]

He is a member of New York State Bar Association and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. Wolkoff's experience as an attorney includes work in corporate law, litigation and regulation.
