Paul O'Donnell is chief operating officer, European Markets Division, of BATS Trading (Europe). He and Mark Hemsley were the divisions first two employees. O'Donnell joined the team in April 2008.[1]

O'Donnell was previously an executive director at Morgan Stanley, where he spent 14 years in a variety of positions in information technology and institutional equities in both Japan and the U.S.
He is an avid amateur cyclist with interests in wine, food and photography.
Education
O'Donnell holds a BSc (hons) in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Sydney, and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
