Phil Slocum is executive vice president of trading operations for Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). In this position, he is responsible for CBOE's trading systems, help desk, trading floor operations, market data, intermarket linkage, post-trade processing and telecommunications.[1][2]

Slocum joined CBOE in 1975 as a trading floor price reporter. During the 1970s and '80s, he coordinated trading floor, data center and office expansion projects and the design and successful relocation of CBOE to a new building, and then helped conceive and implement CBOE’s trading automation. During the 1990s, Slocum directed CBOE’s competitive efforts to win order flow commitments from member firms, and in 1999 he was charged with responsibility for planning and directing all exchange trading functions.
His recent primary focus has been the conception, rollout and enhancements of CBOE’s Hybrid trading system.
Slocum is a two-decade member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Data Management Division (DMD) and a former advisor to the DMD’s executive committee.
