Prime brokerage refers to a group of services that many brokerages give to hedge funds and other large institutional customers. These services include securities lending, leveraged trade executions, and cash management, among others. Most of the large brokers, such as Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, and Morgan Stanley, provide prime brokerage services.
