Richard A. Ferina is deputy CEO of Newedge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Societe Generale and Calyon. Previous to the launch of Newedge, Ferina was chairman and chief executive officer of Calyon Financial Inc. (formerly Carr Futures), a firm predominantly involved in the institutional brokerage firm. Calyon Financial's parent company, Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank, is a global wholesale bank with a broad presence in over 60 countries around the world.

Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank was formed in 2003 as a result of the merger between Credit Agricole Indosuez and Credit Lyonnais.

Appointed as CEO in December 2002 and chairman in March 2003 to then-Carr futures, Richard Ferina oversees US activities for Newedge. Ferina replaced Didier Varlet, who resigned from his position as chairman and chief executive officer of Carr Futures.[1]

Prior to becoming chairman and CEO, Ferina was head of Calyon Financial North America where he led the region's futures operations, including management of the brokerage offices in Chicago, New York and Houston. He has been with Calyon Financial since 1990 and has more than a quarter century of experience in the financial industry.

Ferina began his career with Conti Financial, a division of Continental Grain. He has worked in many different positions including leadership roles at Drexel, Burnham, Lambert, where he helped create and run the financial futures division prior to joining Calyon Financial.

Ferina is or has been a member of the board of directors and the Executive Committee for the Futures Industry Association.[2]
