Rik Parkhill is managing director and head of cash equities for CIBC World Markets, where he is responsible for sales, trading, alternative execution services and research.[1]
Background
Previously Parkhill was interim co-chief executive officer of the TSX Group, where he was responsible for determining the strategic business direction with the board, enhancing competitive positioning and maximizing shareholder returns. He also played a key role in expanding products and services domestically and internationally and strengthening operational effectiveness.
Prior, he was executive vice-president, head of capital markets-investment banking at Research Capital Corporation[2]. He also worked at Jones Heward Investment Counsel Inc. and BZW Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of Barclays Bank, and has held the titles of oil and gas analyst, head of research and head of institutional equities.
Parkhill has more than 20 years experience managing brokerage firms and exchanges in the Canadian equities markets.
