Robert K. Wilmouth, NFA Special Policy Advisor, [1] served as president and chief executive officer of National Futures Association from its inception in 1982 until 2002.

Background

Before joining NFA, Wilmouth was president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Board of Trade for approximately five years. Wilmouth's futures industry career was preceeded by some 27 years in banking. In 1975, he became president of the Crocker National Bank of San Francisco. Prior to Crocker, Wilmouth spent the almost 20 years with the First National Bank of Chicago. Wilmouth was also chairman of LaSalle National Bank for more than two decades.

In 2006, he was inducted into the Futures Industry Association Futures Hall of Fame.[2]


Affiliations

Wilmouth chaired the Consultative Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, is a Lifetime Trustee of the University of Notre Dame and former chairman of its Investment Committee, and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. He sits on the Advisory Council of Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Energy Credit and Clearing Corp [3] and the Advisory Board of the Electronic Knowledge Interchange. [4]

Education

Wilmouth is a graduate of Holy Cross College and holds as Masters degree and an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
