Scott F. Powers is president and CEO of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA).
He is also a member of State Street's Operating Group, the company's senior-most strategy and policy-making team.

Before joining State Street in May 2008, Powers was CEO of Old Mutual US, the U.S. operating unit of London-based Old Mutual plc. During his seven-year tenure at Old Mutual, he was one of six senior executives overseeing the worldwide operations and was also a member of Old Mutual's executive committee, where he was actively involved in the development and execution on overall business strategy.
Previously, he held senior management positions at Mellon Institutional Asset Management and The Boston Company Asset Management. While at The Boston Company Asset Management, he served as chief operating officer and head of marketing and client services. He began his career as a financial services advisor with Dean Witter Reynolds.[1]
Education
Powers has a bachelor of science in economics from Harvard College. Additionally, he is an Incorporator of Cardigan Mountain School.
