Steven D. Spence is the managing partner and member of the board of directors of Valued Ventures, a consultancy he founded in 2003 to foster the development of micro and small-cap companies.[1]

Prior to founding Valued Ventures, Steve Spence, who began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1987 and became manager of interest rate futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, eventually became managing director for the firm. During his career with Merrill, he was posted to Paris, then Tokyo, in both cases as manager of futures and options.
He served on a number of industry boards, including MATIF’s international advisory board, the CFTC’s financial products advisory board and FIA’s Japan Chapter.[2]
Spence served as chairman of the FIA from 2000 to 2001, and in 2006 was inducted into the Futures Industry Association Futures Hall of Fame.
Education
Spence is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City.
