William B. Aimetti is president and chief operating officer and board member of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), a post he has held since August 2007. He also serves as COO of DTCC's National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) and Depository Trust Company (DTC) subsidiaries.[1]
As COO, Aimetti is responsible for day-to-day operations of DTCC and its subsidiaries, which involve, among other things, the clearing and settlement of more than $5.5 trillion in transactions daily.
Background

William Aimetti joined DTCC in July 2000 as a nanaging director and chief administrative officer to oversee all operations and quality initiatives of the company's two subsidiaries, NSCC and DTC. He was named managing director and chief information officer in April 2003.
Prior to joining DTCC, Aimetti was with Nomura since 1994. He was associated with Nomura Holdings America, Inc./Nomura Securities International, Inc. where he had been executive managing director - Operations, Technology and Corporate Services reporting to the CEO of Nomura. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Nomura International Trust Company, a subsidiary of Nomura Holdings America.
Previously, he was a division executive for Citibank, responsible for all operations and technology for North American Global Finance. In this capacity, he managed 3,000+ employees in supporting all of the capital market product lines including FX, derivatives, securities trading, real estate, equipment financing and leasing, debt restructuring, & U.S. commercial lending.
Prior to joining Citibank in 1986, Aimetti was chief operating officer of Wall Street Clearing Corporation (1983-1986), and from 1974 through 1983 he was the group head for the Securities Services Group at the Chase Manhattan Bank.
In his career, Aimetti has chaired both the Securities Operations Division of the SIA and the Securities Committee of the NYCHA as well as being a Board Member of CEDEL (now Clearstream).
Affiliations
Aimetti is a member of Seton Hall University's Board of Regents and sits on the Board of Division of Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Education
Aimetti received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and a Master's degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Business.
