William Goodell is the chairman of the board at the Managed Funds Association (MFA). He was elected to a two-year term beginning in September 2011. Goodell is also the chief operating officer of registered investment adviser Maverick Capital, Ltd.
At the MFA, Goodell focuses on lobbying issues such as carried interest tax treatment, short-selling bans and financial transaction taxes in the U.S. and in Europe, continuing the work of former chairman Darcy Bradbury.
Goodell previously worked for Tiger Management LLC's Julian Robertson. His brother Roger Goodell is the commissioner for the National Football League (NFL) and his father, the late Charles Goodell, was a U.S. senator (NY).
