William Goodell is the chairman of the board at the Managed Funds Association (MFA). He was elected to a two-year term beginning in September 2011. Goodell is also the chief operating officer of registered investment adviser Maverick Capital, Ltd.[1][2]
Background
At the MFA, Goodell focuses on lobbying issues such as carried interest tax treatment, short-selling bans and financial transaction taxes in the U.S. and in Europe, continuing the work of former chairman Darcy Bradbury.[3]
Goodell previously worked for Tiger Management LLC's Julian Robertson. His brother Roger Goodell is the commissioner for the National Football League (NFL) and his father, the late Charles Goodell, was a U.S. senator (NY).
