William P. Janulis is a chief trial attorney for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Janulis is a lead attorney on the Commission's case against the failed futures brokerage, PFGBest and its CEO and founder Russell R. Wasendorf, Sr. The case alleges fraud, misappropriation of customer funds, violation of customer fund segregation laws, and making false statements. In the litigation, the CFTC sought a restraining order to freeze assets, appoint a receiver and preserve records. Further, the litigation sought restitution, disgorgement, and civil monetary penalties among other appropriate relief.[1][2]
