The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is a department of the California Environmental Protection Agency, with a focus on promotion and protection of public health, welfare and ecological resources by reducing air pollution.[1]

The AB32 Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 holds the ARB responsible for monitoring and reducing GHG emissions to 2000 levels by 2010 or 11% below business as usual, to 1990 levels by 2020 or 25% below business as usual, and 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. [2]
