Bevon Joseph is the founder, with Elois Joseph, of the Greenwood Project, which introduces young people to careers in the financial industry via paid summer internships, educational field trips and its summer financial institute for high school students.
He started the Greenwood Project, a non-profit organization, in December 2015.
Joseph is also an advisory board member at the DePaul University Career Center, starting in June 2019.
Joseph, an immigrant from Trinidad, launched the Greenwood Project to help academically talented youth from underresourced Chicago communities gain access to the finance industry. He joined the world of finance in 1996 when he began working as an IT services provider on a New York trading floor. He later worked for some of the city’s largest Wall Street exchanges and financial services firms. He moved to Chicago and eventually worked his way up to be chief technology officer for a hedge fund.
Joseph earned an associate’s degree in computer electronic technology and a high school diploma from Trinidad.
