The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment(CISI) charitable organization set up by the practitioners in conjunction with the London Stock Exchange in 1992. The Charity was established to promote the dissemination of knowledge about securities and investments for public benefit; to develop a criteria of ethical standards for practitioners in those field and to act as an authoritative body for the purpose of consultation and research in matters of public education interest involving investments and securities.[1] CISI has more than 40,000 members in 89 countries, though membership is concentrated in the U.K.

In June 2012, CISI and the Options Industry Council (OIC) signed a conent sharing agreement making the OIC's options educational materials available to CISI members. This agreement will shift the CISIs sphere of influence into the United States market with the offering of OIC resources such as "investor services live help" and "www.OptionsEducation.org". [2][3]
