Convertible securities are securities that can be exercised into another security. Examples of convertibles are bonds, warrants, some swaps, and preferred stocks.

Like options, convertibles have specified spans for exercise, conversion price levels that approximate strike prices, and there are inherent premium structures related to volatility considerations.
