Danijel Medic is senior director of corporate strategy at the CME Group. He was previously director of product strategy and planning. He joined CME Group in 2012 as director, product strategy and planning and was later promoted to senior director, products & services operations before assuming his current role.
Before joining CME Group Medic was the director of business development and international operations at Consolidated Trading LLC, joining the proprietary trading firm’s executive management in July 2009.
Previously Medic was the head of operations and technology at the U.S. Futures Exchange (USFE) and part of the senior management team at the company. Medic joined the start-up in 2004 for its launch under the Eurex US brand from its majority shareholder at the time, Frankfurt-based Eurex, where he headed operations for fixed income futures and options, notably the long-term benchmark complex around the Bund futures and options.
Medic holds an MBA from Goethe University in Frankfurt, and entered financial services in 1997 with DTB, the predecessor organization to Eurex, and worked on the Chicago Board of Trade's A/C/E electronic trading project while with the company. He also worked at Andersen, the management consulting and accounting firm, as a Senior Consultant from 2000-2001 in the areas corporate finance and strategy for financial institutions and IT start-up firms..
