George Recchia is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Rosenthal Collins Group (RCG). he presides over all trading floor operations, 24-hour electronic trading and execution services, back-office clearing and computer operations, telecommunications, exchange-clearing relationships and RCG's physical facilities.
Recchia began his career at RCG as a runner for Collins Commodities on the Chicago Board of Trade floor and subsequently held floor manager positions on the Chicago Board of Trade, MidAmerica Commodity Exchange and Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
He was director of trading floor operations for Collins Commodities in 1986. Recchia directly supervised all administrative, as well as trading floor and clearing operations in Chicago and New York. In 1988, Recchia merged the trading floor and brokerage execution operations of Collins Commodities with Rosenthal & Co., holding the position of director of trading floor operations for the newly formed Rosenthal Collins Group. In 1989, he became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and was an executing floor broker in soybeans for RCG while continuing to fulfill management commitments. In 1990, he introduced the first RCG electronic order routing network and in 1992, RCG was among the first to interface directly to CME Globex.
Recchia earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Composition from the Chicago Conservatory College in 1975.
