Ginger Szala is a digital and print media consultant and a free-lance writer.
As a reporter, Szala concentrated on the futures industry, to a great degree developing the international and managed money coverage of the magazine. In 1992 she was named editor-in-chief. In 1999 she was named group publisher of Futures Magazine Group, which also produces other newsletters and Web sites for derivatives and stock traders.
Szala has written for several publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, Business Week and Crain's Chicago Business. In 1995, she won the Rose Baratz Journalism award, an annual award presented for outstanding journalistic achievement in financial markets.
A Chicago native, Szala received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
