Helen Pound is a senior futures market specialist at Wedbush Futures. She has 40 years of experience in grain commodities, as well as expertise in client services.

Background

Pound began her career as a grain merchandiser for the Pillsbury Company and worked in a variety of locations, including Chicago, where marketing strategies included futures delivery for corn, wheat, and soybeans.

Pound then joined Goldenberg, Hehmeyer & Co. and shifted her focus from the cash grain to the futures markets where it remains.

Pound has had a broad range of responsibilities including managing trading floor operations, executing orders in the MGEX Spring Wheat futures and options pit, and producing market commentary reports for the FCM clients. In addition, she helped develop and execute hedging strategies for commercials and trading strategies for futures/options professionals in the corn, wheat, and soybean markets. Pound writes and distributes three daily grain market reports and regularly appears in Bloomberg,[1] The Wall Street Journal,[2] and Reuters,[3] to name a few media outlets.

Education

Pound graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. She received her MBA from the University of Illinois.
